| A value card system in a bar - more tunrover and better transparency
If you find the waitress not behind the bar but dancing on top of it and spitting fire then you are at the Coyote Ugly Bar.
Show, pretty girls and a value card
The Coyote Ugly Concept has it’s origin in the USA and offers cool drinks, pretty girls and a lot of show….and since a couple of months also an intelligent value card.
„The value card system was accepted by our customers very quick,“ says Oliver Sonnen, the boss from Coyote Ugly in Koblenz obviously satisfied. „The customer can load any amount on the card at a central cash point.
That makes it very much easier for the girls behind the bar because the customer always pays with his prepaid card. That is a big advantage which makes work very much easier when the house is full at night.
„We are mostly very busy and that why I was looking for a system that is easy and fast to use. All the evaluation of the turnover is done later with the terminals.
The software also offers a couple of useful additional features. Beside the normal turnover evaluations I can also run a turnover of every employee or every customer. That brings a lot of transparency at gives me useful information for my operational and strategic decisions.”
More turnover
„Beside the better possibilities of getting information about the behaviour of my customers I have also another effect: Due to the value card the average consumption per customer has increased,” Sonnen is happy about. „The money that is loaded on the card is mostly spent in one night and the advantage for our waitresses is that they don’t have to handle the change any more.
Besides that we offer our customers the possibility to order Vouchers along with a reservation and a discount in our online shop. The value of the voucher we do load on the card before he comes to our bar and can easily be given to him once he comes to us.
So at the bar everything is handled fast with the card.
Refinancing the card
„Of course the customer can take his card with him if he didn’t spent all the money he has loaded on it. We ask for a deposit of 5,00 € per card which will be refunded once the customer returns the card to us. But a lot of customers keep the cards as a souvenir and it reminds them of the nice time they had at our place. And for me it’s also a bargain because I did of course pay less for the card!”
